Martha Ann Defnall McGinnis, 93, of Holly Pond, Alabama, passed away on September 26, 2025. Ms. McGinnis was born in Jefferson County, Alabama, on January 12, 1932, to the late Calvin George Hamilton and Ola Mae Pointer Defnall.
Ms. McGinnis is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hobert Claude McGinnis; siblings, Albert Defnall, George Defnall, Earnest Defnall, Velma Defnall Riffle, Lois Defnall Beasley, Fred Defnall; grandsons, Jason Dean McGinnis, David “Richard” Roberson, Jr; and special friend, Delma Austin.
Those surviving Martha include her children, Rodney and Melody McGinnis, Andy and Darlene McGinnis, Linda and Wayne Trucks, Janey and Wade Grimes; eight grandchildren, Tommy, Tami, Todd, Andrea, Lindsey, Megan, Judd, and Jana; brother, Jimmy Defnall; and a host of great-grandchildren.
Ms. Martha was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. She loved spending time with the ladies of the church and considered them dear friends. She enjoyed growing flowers, crossword puzzles, and a good shopping day. Ms. Martha loved her family and enjoyed having them gather in her home. She will be missed by many.
Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service on Wednesday afternoon, October 1, 2025. The family will gather at 2:00 p.m., in Holly Pond Cemetery, as they lay Ms. McGinnis to rest in a service led by Pastor Jeffery Folds.
