I had Mrs. Donahue as my 5th grade teacher and my daughter was also lucky enough to have her as well. She was one of my very favorites. My most memorable memory of her was making me go to the bathroom to wash off my make up. Lol. I was a little upset over it, but she explained to me that she thought fifth grade was too young to be wearing make up and I was pretty just the way I was. I´ve always looked back remembering that day and realizing how right she was. It just makes me laugh now.

I had the absolute pleasure and honor to work with Martha at Valley Center Public Library for a very short time from 2023-2024. She helped show me the ropes of the library! Martha was always at the other end of the children's big book with me during storytime. Some of my favorite conversations with Martha happened in between the stacks of books as we worked together to put them away. She was my table buddy at the library as we shared a side of the table while eating lunch. Although my time knowing her was short, she made a great impression on me and my family. Thank you, Martha! You will always be in my heart.

We are so sorry to hear of Martha´s death. When we went to the library, she was always so kind, helpful, and genuinely interested in our grandson. We will miss seeing her. Prayers for all of you.
