Martha Edwards Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 6, 2022.
Martha (Juanita) Edwards passed away Monday, December 5 in Fayetteville, AR. at the age of 98. She was born to Samuel Benjamin (Ben) and Florence Dorotha (Dorothy) Fuller in Mcrae, AR. After her marriage to Loy Edwards in 1944, they lived in Little Rock and Russellville, before moving to Fort Smith, AR in 1958. She moved to Fayetteville in May 2021. Survivors include Martha Pate, Susie Moore and husband Jerry, and Tim Edwards and wife Sherry. Six grandchildren: Robert Martin (Danelle), Nick Pate (Kristin), Alex Pate, Whitley McGee (Jason), Katy Murray (Taylor) and Stephanie Mounce. Nine great grandchildren: Mia, Micah and Maddox Pate, Brody Basinger, Peyton and Lincoln Taylor, Cooper and Ava Mounce, and Maylee Kate McGee. Juanita loved her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the absolute joy of her life.
Juanita's 98 year life was lived it to the fullest. One could almost always find something good to eat in her kitchen. She was famous for her Chicken and Dumplings. When she was able, you could find her working in her flower and vegetable gardens or just sitting on her patio soaking up the sunshine. After retiring from Sears she stayed in touch with lifelong Sears friends and enjoyed attending the monthly retirement luncheons when she could. She also loved to go to the casino, always believing that one day she would hit that big jackpot!
She touched many throughout her life and her door was always open to family and friends.
We will miss her smile, her laugh, and her warm hugs, and are very grateful for the 98 years
of unconditional love she showered on our family.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband (Loy) as well as her mother and father.
