Heaven celebrated at the arrival of Martha Ann (Fissell) Neilley, 88, of Cambridge, OH, on Thursday, January 20, 2022. She passed away peacefully at home with family by her side. Martha was born and raised on a farm in Morrow County. She graduated from Edison High School and White Cross Nursing School in Columbus. She retired in 1989 from Guernsey Memorial Hospital (currently known as SEORMC), where she served as an RN and head nurse on 4 South. She was a former member of Indian Camp Grange, Ohio State and National Granges and Hopewell Homemakers. She was a current member of Guernsey County Farm Bureau and Indian Camp Community Church, along with many other charitable organizations. Her favorite things were travel, game shows, and time with family and friends. She was a talented homemaker who was known for her baking, canning and sewing baby quilts and bibs for Haven of Hope and the Health Department. Her love and care for her family and friends was constant, consistent and unconditional.
Preceded in death by husband Blaine G. Neilley whom she married January 22, 1955, infant Neilley son, parents Edgar and Verna Inez Fissell, two brothers Howard and Floyd, sister Wanda Siegfried. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Grant and Sue Neilley of Baltimore, OH; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Tom McCoy of Etna, OH, and Heather and Scott Sheppard of Cambridge, OH; grandchildren, Drew and Liz Neilley, Marta and Daniel Ulry, Greta and Kyle Atwood, Alex and Hanna Neilley and Karen McCoy; great-grandchildren, Floyd, Eustace, Orville, Millicent and Mildred Ulry, also two foster great-grandchildren. Sister, Janet Burns, sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Donald Helman, sister-in-law and husband, Jeanne and Robert Nevel and their daughter Jocelyn Nevel; long-time friends, Kathy Bowers, Vicki Keefer, and Teresa Neff; caregivers, Patty Bailey and Leona Dunham; special furry friend and companion, Ebony; many extended family and friends.
Arrangements handled by Bundy-Law Funeral Home, 120 N. 11th St, Cambridge, OH 43725, 740-432-5705. Family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. and again Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home and graveside services at Mt. Herman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Indian Camp Community Church, c/o Teresa Neff, 64200 Slade Rd, Cambridge, OH 43725 or The Neilley Family Fund, Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, PO Box 456, Nelsonville, OH 45764 or other charities of your choice in Martha's name.
