Mrs. Martha Roe Goss, age 95, of Lansing, passed away Monday morning, September 8, 2025, at Generations Assisted Living.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held later in the Goss Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Goss was born in Ashe County on February 20, 1930 to the late James Edward and Mary Stella Perkins Roe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Goss; a son, David Lee Goss; a daughter, Martha Louise Goss; a granddaughter, Sara Anne Revis; two brothers, Richard Roe and James Roe; a sister, Elizabeth Glenn; and her furry best friend, Snickers.
She was a teacher at Lansing Elementary School where she taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and Reading. She was a member of Helton Community Church. Martha enjoyed sitting on her porch and working puzzles. She had a wonderful sense of humor and brought joy to all who knew her.
She is survived by: two sons, Doug Goss of Lansing and Robert Goss of Lansing; two daughters, Stella Revis of Lansing and Lillian McElrath of Newland; six grandchildren, Rebecca Nelson (Daniel) of Sparta, Ayla Revis of Lansing, Cori Hatfield (Jason) of Wildwood, FL, Katey Baig (Fahim) of Nicholasville, KY, Abigail Calvert (Nathanial) of Linville, and Tucker McElrath of Blowing Rock; two great-grandchildren, James Hatfield and Tatum Calvert; several nieces and nephews also survive.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother, teacher, and friend who touched many lives with her kindness, humor, and love for her family.
