Martha J. Hamilton, age 91, of Montgomery, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025. Born on August 31, 1933, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
Before marrying, Martha worked as a nurse in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she touched the lives of many with her dedicated and compassionate care. She was the cherished wife of Jack Hamilton for 66 wonderful years. Martha was a loving mother to sons Glenn (Jenny) and John (Jeanie). Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Taylor (Meghan), Anna (Luke), Drew, Jeff (Meredith), Kevin (Katie), Dan (fiancée Madi), and great-grandchildren Jackson, Aubrey, and James.
Martha was a proud member of the PEO sisterhood, where she cherished the friendships and bonds she formed with her fellow sisters. She also had a deep passion for crafting and loved collecting treasures that brought her joy. Martha's life was one of selfless dedication to her family and as a volunteer in the community. She enjoyed traveling and accompanying Jack on their many adventures together. She also loved to prepare meals and host family gatherings especially around the holidays. Her love and support were felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her enduring spirit will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
The family will have a celebration of life service June 13, 2025 in Cashiers, NC. Martha will be deeply missed by all who loved her, but her legacy of love, faith, and family will remain in our hearts forever. Condolences online at www.strawserfuneralhome.com
