Martha Joyce Hammond

Martha Joyce Hammond, born on January 1, 1939, in Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at the age of 87, in Bay Village, Ohio.

Martha was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Nellie (Teagarden) Hammond, and sister to her late brother, Carl Lynn Hammond. She is survived by her dear cousins, Grace Uyhazy, Alice Cheslock, Frances Eileen Giffin, and numerous other cherished cousins who will remember her fondly.

Martha began her professional journey as an Administrative Assistant for Eastern Airlines. After the airline ceased operations, she pursued further education and embarked on a new career as a paralegal, a role from which she eventually retired. Throughout her life, Martha was known for her dedication and commitment to her work and those she served.

An avid reader, Martha had a profound love for books, eagerly immersing herself in anything she could get her hands on. She also found joy in sewing and quilting, delighting in creating Barbie clothes for the children of family and friends. Her creativity and generosity were evident in the lovingly crafted items she made.

Private burial services have taken place at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where Martha was laid to rest alongside her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to O'Neill Healthcare of Bay Village, Ohio, whose compassionate care provided great comfort to Martha in her final days.

Martha Joyce Hammond will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness. May she rest in peace.
