Martha C. Harkleroad, 94, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 11, 2024. She was born and raised in Greene County, where she grew up on the farm. She moved to Kingsport to marry the love of her life, Oscar Harkleroad; they were married for over 70 years. Martha made a career at Holston Defense here in Kingsport. She was an avid softball player and fan. Martha was a loving mother to her son, Mark. She had a green thumb and loved working in the yard.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Harkleroad; son, Mark; and two sisters.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and caregivers, Pal Carter and Tricia Damako.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Tilley officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chuckey, TN.
