Martha Jane Hart departed this life on Feb 22, 2026. She was 70 years old.
She was born June 6, 1955, to Walter O. and Margaret R. (Wakefield) Bush in Wichita, KS, the youngest of four. Marty graduated from Ottawa High School in 1973. With an interest in fashion and clothing construction, she briefly attended Patricia Stevens school in Wichita, KS, before returning to Ottawa and marrying Jeffrey A. Hart on March 15, 1974. She was proud to have made her own wedding dress. They celebrated 50 years together in 2024.
Marty was a devoted wife and mother. Jeff and Marty enjoyed their early years together before starting a family. She stayed at home for several years while her daughters were young, and encouraged them to be self-sufficient and independent as they grew, after her own spirit. She worked hard to provide for her family in various manufacturing, printing, and retail positions through the years.
She enjoyed word games, often challenging herself and those around her with her sharp wit and vocabulary. Her creative spirit was displayed in her love for painting and decorating their home.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband and daughters, Kris Heinze (Jarrod), Lincoln, KS, and Erin Elliott (Joe), Overbrook, KS. Grandchildren Courtney Orman (Charles), Alton, IL, Piper Elliott, Owen Elliott, Kaitlyn Heinze, and great-grandchildren Callie and Charlotte brought much joy to her life.
Sister Sara Rich (Jay), Protection, KS, and nieces and nephews Jennifer Sipols (James), OK; Chad Parks (Tracy), FL; Lara Boyd and family, Ottawa, KS, Steven Rich family, MO.
