Martha Howerdd Obituary
She was born on October 4, 1934 in Augusta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Williams Armstrong, father John F. Armstrong, and her loving and devoted husband Eugene M. Howerdd, Jr., and siblings John F. Armstrong, Jr., Frances Armstrong Guin, and Mary Armstrong Maxwell.
Martha "Marty" attended Mount Saint Joseph's Academy and Marymount College in fine arts. She and her husband, Gene, went on to have six children, Eugene M. Howerdd III (Lisa, deceased), John Christopher Howerdd, Sr., Elizabeth Howerdd Stargel (Rick), Katherine Howerdd Price (Benny Price, deceased), Maura Howerdd Burden (Mark), and Lauren Howerdd (Rachel). Marty was a devoted wife and a well-loved mother and "Gammy" to her grandchildren Leah Howerdd Gaudin, John Howerdd, Jr., Tripp Price, Miller Price, Quinn Burden, Owen Burden, Leo Howerdd, and Richard C. Stargel, Jr., and two great grandchildren Rooks Gaudin and Wells Gaudin. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Armstrong.
The family would especially like to thank Teresa Moffett and her team of caregivers and SouthEast Hospice for the wonderful care that was provided to Marty.
Marty was a member of Saint Jude's Catholic Church in Sapphire Valley, NC and St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church in Augusta, GA. She was a member of the Junior League of Augusta, Suburban Garden Club, the Augusta Country Club, Sapphire Valley Country Club, and the Augusta Assembly.
There will be a private rosary held at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and a burial to follow in the family cemetery in Sapphire Valley, NC.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

My condolences to all of the Howerdd family. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Marty over the past years. A lady indeed with impeccable taste. She was always a delight to talk to and certainly will be missed.
