Martha Hutto Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 8, 2025.
Martha Lou Hutto, affectionately known as Momo, G-ma Marty, or Mama Marty, passed away on September 7, 2025, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, just days after celebrating her 74th birthday.

Martha was born on September 2, 1951, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Martha Lena (Wolf) Costner. She graduated at the top of her class from Mountain Park High School in Mountain Park, Oklahoma, in 1969 and continued her education at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Known for her tireless work ethic, Martha devoted herself fully to both her career and her family. She was blessed with two daughters, Michelle and Tammy, born 19 years apart from different marriages, who brought unique joy and purpose to her life.

Martha enjoyed many pleasures throughout her life. She once loved to fish, camp, and sew, but her greatest and most lasting love was the beach. After retiring, she delighted in relaxing with a cup of coffee while playing rounds of Text Twist, traveling with her youngest daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren to different states and beaches, and flying back to Oklahoma to spend time with her oldest daughter and sister.

Above all, Martha found her greatest joy in being a grandmother. She cherished every milestone her grandchildren reached and treasured the simple moments, whether it was surprising them with a candy bar or offering her time, love, and support whenever they needed her. To her family, she was a steady source of strength, laughter, and comfort, and her devotion to them will forever be remembered.

She is survived by her two daughters, Michelle Nichols of Lone Wolf, OK, and Tammy (Tyler) Bledsoe of Fredericksburg, VA; her beloved grandchildren, Triniti Moore of Ft. Worth, TX; Mark Moore of Houston, TX; Layton, Asher, and Jaxton Bledsoe of Fredericksburg, VA; and her only great-grandchild, Vivian Moore of Kemah, TX. She also leaves her sister, Cindy Perry of Lone Wolf, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her maternal and paternal grandparents; her brothers, Allen Costner and Thomas Costner; and a niece, Melissa Costner.

A celebration of Martha's life will be planned at a later date when her family can gather together.
