Martha Jane (Nelson) Carroll, of Cross Creek, PA, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025 in her Cross Creek home where she has resided for the past 68 years.

She was born on March 12, 1932 a daughter of the late Talbert William and Margaret Pearl (Ashby) Nelson of Wind Ridge, Green County, PA.

On June 20, 1957 she married Harry Thomas Carroll of Cross Creek PA who passed away on November 25, 2003.

Martha Jane was a home maker after getting married. Her family was her whole life. She was a member of the Cross Creek Presbyterian Church for 68 years. She served on the Ladies Missionary, the Lady Aide Society and member of Cross Creek Mariner’s Group. She sold Avon for 15 years. She worked a Hazel- Atlas Glass Company prior to marriage. She was on Cross Creek Election Board for several years. After having kids she was a stay at home mom.

Surviving are three daughters Karen (Joe) Warnock of Avella, Brenda and Lisa Carroll of Cross Creek, Daughter-in-law Tammie Carroll of Zelienople; four grandchildren Joseph (Julie) Warnock, Tiffany (Alex) Parkhill, Gregory (Heather) Warnock, Mark (Renee Jee) Carroll; five great grandchildren Ashton & Lydia Warnock, Lily & Ryan Warnock, Aurora Parkhill. She has one surviving sister Saundra Nelson Rutan and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is her only son Thomas Carroll, who passed away April 25, 2023. She is proceeded in death by her brothers and sisters Noel “Pete” , Wilma “Ted”, Ruth “Phyllis”, William “Bill”, Gerald “Jake”, Ullie “Hugh”, and Karl “K-Ball”.

She loved going to Disney World every year with her two daughters Brenda and Lisa. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them play baseball – soccer – dance recitals – band concert- wrestling matches. She never misses an event. She enjoyed every moment with them.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where a service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday September 10, 2025.

Interment will be held in Cross Creek Cemetery, Burgettstown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House in her memory.
