Martha Jean Johanson, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
She was born on March 16, 1928, in Fayette County, PA, to Thomas J. and Catharine (Brown) Richards.
She graduated from Mount Union College and for over 30 years, taught at Alliance City Schools.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Carl and David Johanson; grandchildren, Rocco and Kylie; sisters, Gail (Paul) Kelly and Kay (Dean) Lair; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Johanson; and brother, Jack Richards.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church.
