Martha (Jean) Lail Kelly, 81 of Caroleen, went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2023. Martha (Jean) was born June 29, 1942 in Cleveland County.
She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Goodes Grove Baptist Church before she became a supportive pastors’ wife. Alongside her husband they served 24 years in the United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord and until her illness she read her Bible daily. She loved cooking, baking, and most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Frank and Rosa Mae Lail; three brothers, Frankie Lail, William Lail, and Jerry Lail; one sister Lucille Moore; one daughter Myra Kelly.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Karl A. Kelly of Caroleen; two daughters, Karla Kelly Towler, of Ellenboro and Tina Kelly of Forest City; four grandchildren, Heather Wilson, Keith Laughter, Kellee Towler, Logan Kelly; five great grandchildren, Kayleigh Wilson, Kinsley Wilson, Kyler Wilson, Adam Laughter, Keelen Laughter; two sisters, Rachel Whisnant and Reba Poteat.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, August 20th at Harrelson Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 21st at 1:00 P.M in the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Karl A. Kelly officiating. A committal service will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
