Martha “Marty” Denise Key, age 69, of Maypearl, Texas, passed away on December 19, 2025.
Marty was born to Martha Ophelia Key (Tribble) and Melvin Ray Key, both of whom preceded her in death. She lived much of her life in Maypearl and was known for her independent spirit and unmistakable personality.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Wheatley; her son and daughter-in-law, Britton and Jessica Key; her sisters, Cindy Pontley and Linda Gotcher Davis; her brother-in-law, Charles Davis; along with nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Marty had a deep affection for animals, especially her cats. She leaves behind six beloved cats, who will continue to be cared for by her husband, Rodney.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Maypearl Cemetery, located at 12684 FM-157, Maypearl, Texas 76064.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that condolences be shared with them.
Marty will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life, her unmistakable presence, and the lasting impression she made on those who knew her.
