Martha Kizer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 15, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Martha (McCormick) Kizer
With full hearts and cherished memories, we celebrate the beautiful life of Martha (McCormick) Kizer, who passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Though we grieve her departure, we also rejoice in the legacy of love, laughter, and kindness she left behind.
Martha, who grew up in Waynesfield, Ohio, brought light and joy into the world from the very beginning. Her strong spirit was unmistakable-bright, generous, outspoken and deeply compassionate. A devoted mother, sister and friend, Martha made everyone feel seen, heard, and loved.
She lived with an open heart and a boundless curiosity, always ready to learn something new, lend a helping hand, or share a warm smile. Whether it was through her career as a labor and delivery and public health nurse, working in her beautiful gardens, reading books, playing bridge, or cooking, Martha made the world a better place.
She had a remarkable gift for finding joy in the little things-sunrises, a cup of coffee, and simply appreciating a deep, blue sky.
Martha is survived by her husband, Douglas Kizer, and her sons, Craig (Maria) and Mark (Beth) Kizer, who will carry her memory forward with pride, gratitude, and deep affection. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Logan, Aidan, and Sidney Kizer.
A private family celebration of Martha 's life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio ( https://www.plannedparenthood.org/planned-parenthood-greater-ohio/get-involved-old/our-donors/how-give ), in honor of Martha's generous spirit and passion for the well-being of mothers and babies, as well as public health.
