KRAL, MARTHA ANN (MARTY)
Age 73, of Indianapolis, passed away December 10, 2025. Born and raised in Hopkins, Minnesota, and later in Overland Park, Kansas, by parents Stanley and Catharine Kral.
Marty married David Kosednar in May of 1996 and considered that to be a highlight of her life. Marty enjoyed music and played in a recorder group for many years. She and Dave enjoyed playing volleyball and softball and watching sports, especially her beloved Kansas Jayhawk basketball team. Marty was a very social person – she made friends easily and loved being around her friends – and they loved her. Her life motto was “Be Kind,” and she was both compassionate and kind.
Marty earned three degrees from the University of Kansas, including and most prominently a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. She worked as a research scientist at three different pharmaceutical companies and ended her career with Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was proud to have been an integral part of bringing five different drugs to market.
Marty was preceded in death by her husband, David Kosednar, and her parents, Stan & Katie Kral. She is survived by her two brothers, David (Mayi) and Daniel (Cindy), and nephews (Christopher, Nicolas, John, and Stephen) and nieces (Catharine, Jessica, Kari, and Sarah).
Future celebration gatherings of Marty’s life will be held in Indianapolis and Minnesota – dates and locations to be determined.
