Martha Lanham Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mortimer Funeral Home, Inc - Belzoni on Aug. 12, 2024.
Martha Nannette Fuller (Hoke/Lanham) was born on July 24, 1938, to William and Lillian Fuller in Ruleville, MS. She passed away at her daughter's home on August 11, 2024, in Olive Branch, MS. Nannette was a very loving Christian mother who raised 3 children in Greenville, MS. She attended church regularly, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and VBS, and helped volunteer for church events. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Jeffrey Hoke of Greenville; her parents, William and Lillian Fuller of Isola; sisters, Matte Mae Johnson of Biloxi, Pearl Tharp of Flora, Betty Amelia Fuller of Belzoni; and brothers, Bill and James Fuller, both of Isola. She is survived by two daughters, Paula (John) Bowers of Olive Branch, Dendra (Terry) Fry of Memphis; grandchildren, Glenn Poole, Michael Poole, Marti (Jordan) Montgomery; two sisters, Lydia Jean Millwood of Belzoni, Rebecca Williams of Ripley, and many loving nieces and nephews. Nannette grew up in Isola, MS, where she attended Isola High School, playing guard on the basketball team. Her best friend at school was her sister, Lydia Fuller Millwood. Their love and support for each other continued throughout her life. Not one day passed that they didn't speak on the phone. They were prayer warriors who prayed for each other daily. Nannette was also a very hard worker who helped her parents and siblings in the cotton fields and who sacrificed so much to give to others. Her selflessness and love for her children and grandchildren were unconditional and boundless. She will be remembered as a selfless mother who always had faith in God and as a sister who loved to make her siblings laugh. She will be greatly missed at all family gatherings as she was the "rock of the family." Funeral arrangements: Mortimer Funeral Home 212 N.
