Martha F. "Sothard" Misak

Martha Frances (Sothard) Misak of Hastings, MI passed away peacefully at home in Rockford, MI on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was 72 years old.

Martha attended Hastings High School and graduated in 1971. She then attended Kellogg Community College and graduated as an LPN. She enjoyed being a nurse and caring for others and practiced in the profession for over 40 years. Martha had a love for music and enjoyed singing, especially in the Lakewood Area Choral Society. In addition to singing, her hobbies included gardening, trying new recipes in the kitchen, getting together with her high school girlfriends to play Euchre, and exploring Tucson, AZ and the surrounding desert with her husband, Frank. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Wordle with her grandson Kyle. Martha was extremely supportive and involved in the lives of all her grandchildren and found great joy through them. Martha was also strong in her faith and believed to always "find joy" in all circumstances. Her positivity radiated throughout her life and touched those who knew her.

Martha is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Frank Misak; son Frank Misak Jr. and wife Shelly; son Andrew Misak; daughter Keli (Misak) Kenny and husband Chris; sister Donna (Sothard) Mathews and brother-in-law Eldon; brother Thomas Sothard and sister-in-law Cheryl; grandchildren Kyle Misak, Morgan Misak, Sydney Misak, Josey Misak, and Brycen Kenny; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Norma Sothard and her brother David Sothard.

Martha will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Her family will share details of the event once plans are made. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan Mast ALS Foundation of West Michigan at www.susanmastals.org.
