Martha Ann Pelot

Martha Ann Hodges Pelot, 90 of Griffin, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Eternal Hope Hospice.

Martha was born on August 28, 1934, in Jasper County, Georgia to the late Walt Anglin and the late Verna Henderson Anglin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Pelot; previous husband of 49 ½ years, Thomas Hodges; granddaughter, Angie Hodges; siblings, Richard Henderson, James Anglin, Cecil Anglin, Helen Nunnally, Nancy Jones.

Martha was a devoted Christian whose faith guided every part of her life. Since 1977, she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Orchard Hill, where she lovingly served in the church nursery, nurturing generations of little ones. Family was the center of her world, and she welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and a place at her dinner table. Known as a gracious hostess and "Mama" to all who knew her, Martha's warmth and kindness touched countless lives. She found joy in tending her flower and vegetable gardens, often preserving her harvests through canning and sharing the fruits of her labor with others. Nothing brought her greater joy than her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and the pride of her heart. Her love, hospitality, and unwavering faith leave behind a beautiful legacy that will be cherished forever.

Those left to cherish Martha's memory are her children and their spouses, Joe Hodges (Denise), Jimmy Hodges (Cheryl), Pam Greene (Doug); grandchildren, Shirley Hendricks (Phillip), Betsy Hodges, Craig Moss, Justin Moss, Hanna Mayfield (Timothy); great-grandchildren, Sebastian Hendricks, Levi Mayfield, Henry Mayfield, Charlie Mayfield, Thomas Hendricks; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Orchard Hill with Pastor Frank Winfrey officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the service hour at the church.
