Martha "Sue" Lynn Perdue, 97, of Reidsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on December 4th, 2024, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, NC surrounded by her family and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 8th, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Clontz officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 from 5:30-7:30 PM at the funeral home and other times at the family home on 270 Penn Road, Reidsville, NC. A graveside committal will follow the service at Mizpah Global Methodist Church Cemetery.
Martha was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. An avid gardener, she would spend hours canning vegetables and fruits for the Sunday dinners that she prepared. There was nothing more important to her than seeing her loved ones gathered around the family table to enjoy her home cooked meals. Her culinary skills and her ability to create a warm welcoming home was enjoyed by family and friends from near and far. She spent many hours sewing clothes when her grandkids were small, pulling each stitch with love. Martha was known for her ability to crochet the warmest blankets and generously shared them with family and friends over the years. Her love, wisdom, and guidance will be deeply missed by so many.
Along with her late parents, Albert Lynn, and Beulah Robertson Lynn, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Franklin Perdue; son, James Carlton Perdue; son in Law, Jack Petty; great grandson, Joe Bailey and 8 siblings.
She is survived by her children, Russell Perdue and wife Catherine and Martha Jane Perdue Petty; grandchildren, Shonda Perdue Pulliam, Mike Perdue (Diana), Tracy Petty (Angie), Saprina Pulliam (Scott), Karen Petty Carter (Jeff); great grandchildren, Landon Pulliam, Michala Carter, Jessica Watson, Tyler Pulliam, Courtney Shaffner, Kristyn Carter, Abigail Carter, Kendall Petty, Katelyn Petty, Ashley Perdue, Lara Beth Sizemore, Briana Bailey; great-great grandchildren, Elijah, Cole, Evan, Emersyn, Everleigh, Gideon, Easton, and Sedona.
Martha's presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, caring, and skill will endure in the hearts and memories of those she touched.
