Martha H. Ruby, beloved mother and devoted family member, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 89. Born on December 19, 1935, in Texarkana, Texas, Martha lived a life marked by dedication to her family and her work.
Martha spent many years as a switchboard operator for the telephone company, where she was known for her reliability and strong work ethic. Her career was a testament to her commitment and resilience, qualities that she carried into all aspects of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alma Lynn Huddleston, and her beloved husband, William Ruby. Martha's legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, who remember her fondly for her strength, kindness, and unwavering support.
Martha faced her battle with Parkinson's Disease with courage and grace, inspiring those around her with her indomitable spirit.
In keeping with her wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held to honor Martha's memory. Her family extends their gratitude for the love and support they have received during this difficult time.
