Jane Shaw, born on February 12, 1962, in Asheboro, NC, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Sunbright, TN, at the age of 63. Her journey through life was as vibrant and colorful as the feathers she loved to collect, and her spirit, as enduring as the amethyst stones she cherished.
Jane was a larger-than-life presence, a unique blend of country soul and hippy heart, whose amazing energy and wild spirit touched everyone she met. Her fluent sarcasm and belief in karma added a delightful edge to her character, making her an unforgettable force of nature that left a deep impression on everyone around her.
A devoted Domestic Engineer, Jane's true passions lay in the great outdoors. Whether she was exploring the mountains or relaxing by the beach, her love for nature knew no bounds. She found joy in collecting rocks and feathers, and her fondness for hummingbirds brought a special light to her days. She was also known for her adventurous hobbies, such as shooting her gun and knife throwing, which embodied her fearless approach to life.
Jane's life was deeply enriched by her family and animal companions. She is survived by her loving husband, Wesley Shaw; her son, Jermey Coley; her daughter, Kristia Cogan and her husband Luke; and her cherished grandchildren Allison Redman and Wesley Shaw II. She also leaves behind her brother Allen Kinney and his wife Carol, along with many nieces and nephews. Her in-laws, Leslie Moye and Sam Shaw, were part of her extended family whom she adored.
Her beloved horses, Red and Sugar, her dogs Sandy, Bubba, and Hayley, and her cat Useless were companions that brought her endless joy and companionship throughout her life.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Susie Kinney, and her brothers, Gary and Wayne. Their memory remained close to her heart always.
A celebration of Jane's extraordinary life will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, between 2 and 4 PM. This gathering will honor the vibrant tapestry of emotions and experiences that Martha shared with those around her, reminding us all of the remarkable woman who lived life on her own terms and inspired others to do the same.
In remembering Jane, may we all carry forward her love of life, her appreciation for nature's beauty, and her indomitable spirit.
