Martha F. "Pat" Sterzik

Martha "Pat" Sterzik passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024, surrounded by loving family throughout the day. Born on April 29, 1942, Pat was known for her fun-loving, outgoing spirit and warmth that drew countless friends into her life. She was known by many and loved by all who knew her. Pat had a zest for nature, often taking long walks on wooded trails with Damon Six, the love of her life, or cherishing the quiet beauty of sunsets on the Frankfort beach. Together, they shared many joyful hours, savoring hamburgers and root beer at the local A&W, where simple pleasures brought lasting memories.
Pat had a deep affection for animals and was known to feed stray cats in her neighborhood and even the occasional raccoon. She lived a humble, resilient life, overcoming her own challenges while dedicating herself to caring for others and working tirelessly to support her family.
Pat is survived by her two children, Don Sterzik and Roberta (Chris) LaMont; four siblings, Andrew (Paulette) Abshire, Bill Abshire, Ruth (Mike) Mitchell, and Peggy Abshire; six grandchildren, Brandy Sterzik (Lindsay Gilroy), William Boothman, Randy Johnson, William (Charlotte) Sterzik, Brianna (Jeremy) Cowley, and Jordan LaMont. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren who were dear to her heart. Pat was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Abshire (1969), her mother, Virginia Abshire (2011), her sister Mary Abshire (1961), her daughter Beverly Sterzik (2005), her partner Damon Six (2015), and her daughter-in-law Deborah Sterzik (2016).
Pat's family invites all who knew her to celebrate her life by sharing memories, laughter, good food and even better company. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Cleon Township Cemetery in Copemish, Michigan. Following the service, a celebration of life will be held at Harrietta Village Hall, 122 Davis Ave., Harietta, MI 49638, across from the park.
