Mrs. Martha Louise Perry Summers, age 88, passed away on March 28, 2023, in Westmoreland, TN. She was born March 14, 1935 to Luther and Margaret Dayton Johnson Perry in Nashville, TN. She was united in marriage to Fred Louis Summers on March 28, 1953. He passed away July 4, 2005 after 52 years of marriage.
Martha was a member of New Hope Church. She loved the Lord and believed His word. She feasted daily on the Daily Bread and loved to read Christian books and listen to gospel music. She retired from C & C Sportswear after being employed for 28 years.
Martha is survived by her four sons, Michael Anthony Summers, Paul Louis Summers, Perry Joseph (Cindy) Summers and Jason Christopher Summers; four grandchildren, Samantha Jane, Wesley Joseph, Isaac Jordan and Savannah Brook Summers; two great-grandchildren, Brody and Declan Summers and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Jessie Howard Perry and five sisters, Mable Bradshaw, Katie Patterson, Baby June Oral Perry, Mildred Hall and Annie Laura Bloodworth.
The service for Mrs. Martha Summers will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Creasy officiating. Interment to follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 3:00 - 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM.
