Martha Rae Thieman, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the age of 85, in Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana. Born on April 21, 1939, in Milton, Carroll County, Kentucky, Martha lived a life filled with love, kindness, and the joys of family.
Martha was known for her dedication as a homemaker, tirelessly managing her household and creating a nurturing environment for her loved ones. She found happiness in simple pleasures, notably through her passion for cooking and playing Bingo, hobbies that brought her joy and allowed her to connect with many friends and family alike.
Martha is survived by her son, Franklin W. (Melanie) Thieman, II, of Carrollton, KY; her sister, Maralene Tolliver, of Milton, KY; her brother, Fred Banks, of Louisville, KY; and her beloved granddaughter, Clara Thieman. Each of these family members carries forward her legacy of love and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laus Banks and Velma Bruner Banks, along with her stepmother, Elsie Banks, who raised her with care. Martha is also reunited with her late husband, Franklin William Thieman, and two brothers, Troy and Danel Banks.
PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN THE SERVICE TIMES. Martha's memory will be honored with visitation at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, March 31, 2025. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the funeral home. The Burial will take place in the Hunters Bottom Cemetery in Milton, KY.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
