Martha Lorraine Thompson, lovingly known as Marti, peacefully fell asleep in death on August 4, 2025, in Eagle River, Alaska, due to heart complications. Born on December 9, 1948, in Highland, Michigan, Marti lived a life full of warmth, faith, and love for her family. On October 5, 1974, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, a milestone that shaped her life's course and gave her steadfast hope in God's promise of a future resurrection.
Marti was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Lois Gatzka; her brother, Kirk Gatzka; her sister, Anna Goodwin; her husbands, George Jenkinson and Richard Thompson; and her beloved daughter, Cari Justice.
She is survived by her siblings Laurie Gatzka, Karl & Kathleen Gatzka, Kent & Tammy Gatzka, and Christa & Don Gerdts; her children Sean & Lisa Jenkinson, Jess & Rob Muller, and Dustin & Rachel Thompson; and her cherished grandchildren Ashley, Tanner, Carissa, Alina, Alexis, Alyssa, Olivia, Rose, and Jonas.
Marti's life was marked by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones. She found personal joy in exploring Jehovah's creation and expressing what she discovered in various artistic mediums. She took great fulfillment in sharing her faith, and creating lasting memories with her family. Her gentle spirit and bright smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are warmly invited to join us in remembering Marti's life and the faith that guided her. In honoring her wishes, the memorial will reflect the simplicity and spiritual hope she treasured, looking forward to the day when she will be welcomed back in the promised Paradise earth, as foretold in Revelation 21:4 - when "death will be no more."

My wife, Carrie Ripley Phillips, and I have known her since going to school at Dublin Elementary in Union Lake, MI. She was a beautiful and kind person. She will be missed. Condolences to the family. Steve Phillips
