Martha Lou Wright, born on January 29, 1938, in Avant, Oklahoma to David and Alice (Klause) Ellis, passed away peacefully in Skiatook, Oklahoma, on October 31, 2025, at the age of 87. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a vibrant legacy that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
Martha grew up in Avant and graduated with the Class of 1956. Early in her life, she embraced her role as a dedicated homemaker, nurturing her family until her children were grown. In 1999, she married John Wright in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and the couple made their home in Skiatook.
In a remarkable turning point in her life, Martha pursued further education at the age of 50, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. Her professional journey included roles in real estate, home building, and a significant 20-year career with a mortgage company. She later became a skilled MRI and CT scan Technician at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Claremore Regional Hospital, and Nidec Mobile CT Scans, retiring in 2013.
Martha had a passion for life that was evident in her everyday activities. She adored taking care of her beloved dachshund dog, Duchess, and found joy in gardening and cooking for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Fishing was another pastime she cherished, allowing her to connect with nature and her loved ones.
Her family legacy includes her sons, Douglas Lovett and Timothy Lovett; five grandchildren, Rene Hope and Bryan, Derrick Lee, Jordan Lovett, Kassandra Dean and Gregory Dean; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Roman Hopkins, Abigail O'Donnell, Ella Hopkins, Tyler Lee, Ryan Lee, Mya Lee, Illiana Lovett, Aliyah Lovett, Owen Dean, Ashdon Dean, Barron Hope, Blake Hope, and Gracie Hope. She was also proud to welcome a great-great granddaughter, Brynlee Hope, into the family. Martha is survived by several nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, David and Alice Ellis; her husband, John Wright; three brothers, Bob Ellis, David Ellis, and Alva Lee Ellis; her daughter, Delayna Dean and her farm dog of 20 years Moses.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Martha's life will be held on November 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Giacomo's Vineyard & Events 12345 N 13th E Ave, in Skiatook, Oklahoma 74070.
Martha Lou Wright's radiant spirit and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched throughout her vibrant and fulfilling life.
