Born in Passaic and raised in Garfield, Marty devoted much of his life to serving his community. He began his career as a Special Police Officer for the Parsippany Police Department, later working for Kalmus Jeweler and the Watch Hospital, both located in Lake Hiawatha. He eventually retired from the Lake Hiawatha Library, where he was a familiar and friendly face to many local residents.
Marty was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Dawn, who passed away on May 19, 2020.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa A. Billy; his cherished granddaughter, Alexis Billy; his sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Robert Dabrowski; his niece, Michelle Post and her husband, Ken; his nephew, Robert Kalmus and his wife, Nancy; and his two loving feline companions, Willow and Tiger.
Marty will be remembered for his kind heart, dedication to others, and the quiet joy he brought to those around him.
