Obituary: Mr. Martin Burbank (1942 - 2024)
Martin Burbank, a beloved husband, devoted father, proud Vietnam veteran, and master of all trades, passed away peacefully at the age of 81. Martin was born in Battle Creek to Hiram William Burbank and Betty Jane Korp Ellis. He was a loving husband to Margaret for 32 years, sharing 37 years of companionship, and a cherished father to Billie Jo Wheeler, Michael (Sally) Burbank, Bobbi Jo (Will) DuBoise, and Kimberly Bell. Martin is also survived my his siblings; sister, Elanor Amos and brothers, Thomas Burbank and Arthur Burbank.
Martin served his country with honor and bravery in the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968. Following his service, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver, mastering various fields including construction and sanitation. Martin was truly a jack of all trades, known for his resourcefulness and unwavering work ethic.
A true craftsman, Martin found joy in tinkering in his garage and working on cars. There was nothing he couldn't fix or build, and his skillful hands brought countless creations to life. He took great pride in having built his own home, along with Margaret, and delighted in crafting special pieces for his loved ones.
Despite his many talents, Martin remained a humble and modest man, preferring the comforts of home and the company of his family. Martin and Margaret enjoyed spending winters in Florida, near his beloved sister Elanor Amos, and her family.
Martin's legacy lives on through his 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his brothers Donald Burbank, Hiram Burbank, and Fred Burbank, his mother Betty Korp Ellis, his father Hiram William Burbank, and his stepmother Geraldine Burbank.
Martin Burbank will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Willie you will be missed. I only knew you as Willie but the memories of you will be forever in my mind. You joking with my kids and me any time you saw us. Helping my Mom and Dad on their house and the talks we had. You will be missed and there will never be another person like you, you were one of a kind. Fly high among the Angels.

Wonderful memories of Willie while growing up in the old Gorsline Road neighborhood. May he rest in peace. Thinking of you, Margaret, as you go through this difficult time.
