Martin Lynn Havens, 60 of Buna, Texas affectionately known to family and friends as "Doodlebug," passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 3, 2025. Martin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His gentle heart, kind soul, and warm smile left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A proud veteran, Martin honorably served his country in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army, carrying with him the values of loyalty, courage, and dedication throughout his life and into every role he held, especially as a loving family man.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Havens; his beloved mother, Doris Havens; his daughter, Marisa Loper (Kirbyville, Texas) and husband Shane, as well as his four cherished grandchildren, Ashton Reamy, Arthur Reamy, Andrew Reamy, and Wrenley Loper, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Martin is also survived by his siblings: Sister Doris Jean Chesser (Buna, Texas) and husband Gaylon. Brother Richard Mark Havens (Gridley, California) and wife Christine. Sister Cheryl Anderson (Normangee, Texas) and husband Dee. Sister Suzanne Critchfield (Vidor, Texas) and husband Carl. Also surviving are his uncle Truman Wright (Willis, Texas) and wife Melissa, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember him with love.
Martin was preceded in death by his father Richard Havens and mother Judy Havens; his grandparents Lottie and Truman Wright and Richard Oak Havens and Mattie Inez Ray Havens; and his beloved son, Rhett Reamy.
Martin will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering loyalty to his family, and his ability to bring laughter into any room. His legacy will live on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the example he set as a devoted family man and proud American.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna, Texas with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Family visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by public visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home, and food contributions can be coordinated through Amanda Jones at (409) 926-3654.
