Martin O'Lear, age 80, of Wexford, PA, and formerly of Hickory, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Born on February 6, 1945, in Bellevue, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew W. and Blanche G. O'Lear.

Marty was the beloved husband of Margaret "Maggie" O'Lear, and a loving father to his son, Daniel "Dan" O'Lear, and his stepson, Kevin Poropatich. He was also a cherished grandfather to Eva Poropatich, and a devoted brother to Adelaide O'Lear Albright and Patricia O'Lear. Marty is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Andrew Schumacher, Michael Schumacher, Diane Wargo, Kathy Esswein, Michael McGrath, and Gael Farrell, all of whom held him dear.

A man of many passions, Marty loved spending time outdoors-whether hiking, hunting, fishing, or fly fishing. He cherished camping trips, canoeing on tranquil waters, and perfecting his golf swing. One of his greatest joys was tending to his garden and horseback riding on his 10-acre farm in Hickory, PA. Marty had a special connection to the land, and he took great pride in maintaining the beauty of his property.

Marty proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a lifelong sense of duty. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, his sense of adventure, and his dedication to the outdoors.

Friends and family are welcome to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, North Hills, 5910 Babcock Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. For more information, please visit Christ Episcopal Church website.
