Martin "Marty" Pitstick

Martin (Marty) Pitstick of Mendota, IL passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at his home in Mendota. He was born 6/13/1953 in Ottawa, IL the son of Lawrence and Mary Rita (O'Rourke) Pitstick.
Marty never met a stranger, only a friend he hadn't met before. He had a big heart and a hearty laugh with a smile to match. Marty would give you the shirt off his back even if it was the only one he had. He lived an adventurous life from driving semis to ranching in Montana. Marty loved riding his Harley motorcycle and going to car races. He was a free spirit who "lived the way he wanted to live."
Marty was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by six sisters, Madelyn (Walt) Zawislak of Boca Raton, FL, Arlene (Chuck) Rogers of Dixon, IL, Mary Lou (Tim) Stein of Manzanita, OR, Donna (John) Cantello of Sedona, AZ, Sheila (Randy) Skinner of Waterman, IL, Alicia (Greg) Yuvan of Peru, IL; four brothers, Gerald (Mary Beth) of Simi Valley, CA, Kevin (Mary Ellen) of Peoria, IL, Greg of Earlville, IL, and Dale (Lisa) of Bakersfield, CA., many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mary Rita Pitstick; sister Marguerite Jones.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, tentatively in May of 2025.
