Schertz Funeral Home and Crematory - SchertzMartin Joseph Polit, age 44, of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with our Lord recently. He was born on September 24, 1980.
Martin, affectionately known as Marty was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle. He was known for his kind heart and his love for animals. He was born at home in Chicago, Illinois to his parents Kathleen and Stanley Polit. Marty was always full of surprises, even from the very start. He grew up on the northside of Chicago, but never crossed to the dark side and always stayed true to his southside roots by rooting for the Chicago White Sox. He played hockey for Glenbrook North High School. Marty worked as a commercial painter while living in Illinois. In 2007 he moved to Midway, Arkansas and helped his parents run Bull Shoals Lake Resort until 2017. Martin made guests feel like they were the most important people for the few weeks they were on the lake, sitting by the pool and playing. He never met a stranger, and everyone who met him loved him.
He met his wife, Kennie Boxill, in March of 2009 while on a Spring Break trip and they dated long distance for several years before she moved to Arkansas to be with him. They married in August 2013 in Bull Shoals, Arkansas overlooking the White River. In 2017 Marty moved to San Antonio, Texas and began his career at Amazon. Throughout his career Martin was awarded several accolades for his dedication, productivity, attendance and attitude. He was always ready to work late, give a helping hand and be a guy to laugh with.
Marty is survived by his wife, Kennie, his parents, Kathleen and Stanley Polit; brothers, Mark (Marycruz), Michael; nephews, Markus and Alexander; uncles, Joe (Kathleen) and Mark (Lori); cousins, Lisa, Joe, Matt, Marty, Michael, Jess, Jamie. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Madison Polit, grandparents, Alice Buczyna, Joseph Buczyna; pets, Lady, Misty, Timber, Magic, Mister Kitty and Tess.
