Martin Ray Pruitt Sr., 49, of Aransas Pass, Texas, passed away on August 21, 2024, while surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 9, 1975, to parents, Sidney Marcos “Bobby” and Linda Kay Pruitt, in Taft, Texas.
Martin enjoyed listening to music, dancing and being with his family and friends. His passing was sudden and unexpected.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Donna Mechelle "Doc" Fernandes of Aransas Pass, Texas; daughter, Mariah Renee (Daniel) Valenzuela of Ingleside, Texas; son, Martin Ray (Haleigh) Pruitt Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother, Garland Dale (Crystal) Pruitt of Cleveland, Texas; sister, Lori Lynn Manuel of Pueblo, Colorado; and his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Martin reunited with his mother, Linda Kay; father, Sidney Marcos “Bobby” Pruitt; brothers, Aaron Pruitt and Gilbert Newman; and other family and friends in heaven.
While we lost our most beloved dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many. No matter what he was always a phone call away and he'd be by your side if you needed him. There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest roll - he was also a husband, a friend, a coworker and colleague, a cousin, brother, stand-in paternal figure to the fatherless, a dancer, the list goes on and on.
We invite you all to share pictures or memories in his honor. It was his wish that we laugh and reminisce, dance and smile together during this time.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024.
