Martin Worthey Obituary

Worthey, Martin Jr.
CLIFTON PARK - Martin F. Worthey Jr., 90, of Wall St., and formerly of Congers, passed away, Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born and educated in St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of the late Martin F. Worthey Sr. and Jane Cleary Worthey. He received both his undergraduate degree and MBA from Iona College. He moved to Clifton Park in 2011
Martin had been employed by Chase Bank in Westchester County, and also taught high school math in Westchester County schools. He was a veteran of the US Army.
He was a communicant of St. Edward's Church in Clifton Park, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council in Congers. While they resided in Congers, he and his late wife, Mary, would bring Holy Communion to the home bound.
Martin was predeceased by his wife, Mary Whalen Worthey, who passed away, on July 12, 2024. He is survived by his stepdaughters, Eileen Johnson (Danny) of Waterford, Teresa Lagattuta (Paul) of Glen Rock N.J., and MaryBeth Strange (Stephen) of High Bridge, N.J. He is the brother of David Worthey and the late Donald, Lawrence and Jane Worthey. He is the grandfather of Timmy, Andrew, Tara, Lizzy, Ricky and Michael. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 11 a.m., at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit with his family at the church on Thursday, prior to the funeral Mass, from 10 to 11 a.m.
