Martin R. Yoder

Martin R. Yoder, 75, of LaGrange (district: 17), died on Thursday, July 11 at 8:20 am at his residence. He was born on September 22, 1948 in Middlebury to Andrew and Elva (Miller) Yoder. On September 24, 1970 in LaGrange he married Lizzie Ann Miller, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are a son, Wayne (Marilyn) Yoder of Rome City; five daughters, Christina (Junior) Raber of Shipshewana, Waneta (Marion) Miller of Topeka, Naomi (Mahlon) Yoder of LaGrange, Marilyn (David) Lambright of Topeka, Ruth (Richard) Miller of Topeka; 40 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; six brothers, Gerald (Wilma) Yoder of Topeka, Eugene (Dorothy) Yoder of Topeka, John (Ruth) Yoder of Middlebury, Larry (Martha) Yoder of Middlebury, David Yoder of Topeka, Glen (Marietta) Yoder of Middlebury; five sisters, Esther (Sam) Borkholder of Middlebury, Edith (Cornelius) Fehr of White Pigeon, MI, Linda (Calvin) Hochstetler of White Pigeon, MI, Mary (Dan) Yoder of Shipshewana, Barbara (Yonie) King of Middlebury; sister-in-law, Clara (Raymond) Yoder of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Merle Yoder; a brother-in-law, Marion Yoder. He was a farmer and retired Bishop in the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Friday, July 12, and all day Saturday, July 13, at the family's residence 2285 W 350 S, LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Sunday, July 14, at Marlon Miller's residence 2320 W 350 S, LaGrange. Services will be conducted by Bishop Wayne V. Miller and the home ministers. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is handling the arrangements.
