It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martina Daniel, 87, of Elizabeth who was born in Castries, Saint Lucia, on February 1, 1938, and passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. She was a beloved matriarch, a joyful spirit, and a woman whose small frame carried an incredible strength.
Theresa was the devoted wife of the late Amos Messiah, and together they built a legacy rooted in love, family, and faith. Known to many as “little but powerful,” Theresa had an energy and passion that lit up any room. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially music. Whether it was Gospel or classic Country Western, as soon as the music began to play, Theresa couldn’t help but dance.
A woman dedicated to her health and well-being, she was an avid exerciser with an impressive collection of workout tapes on VHS—a testament to her enthusiasm and discipline. She also loved movies of all kinds, from the action of Jackie Chan to the westerns of John Wayne, and even the timeless beauty of The Sound of Music.
Her loved ones will always remember the cheerful chime of her beloved cuckoo clock that rang on the hour, every hour, filling her home with a familiar, comforting sound. But above all, Theresa will be remembered for the incredible family she nurtured. She was a Great-Great Grandmother and the proud matriarch of a family of more than 80 loved ones whose lives were forever shaped by her love, wisdom, and warmth.
Theresa Daniel’s life was a beautiful example of strength, joy, and devotion. Though she will be deeply missed, her laughter, music, and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
