Marty S. Kerchner III

Marty S. Kerchner III, age 81, of North Versailles passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025. He was born September 14, 1944 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Martin and Maude "Pearl" (Heckman) Kerchner. He was a proud Army veteran that served in Vietnam. After his service he worked as a machinist at Westinghouse Switch and Signal and then at the Air Brake plant in Wilmerding. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Jeffery A. Kerchner Sr. He is survived by his wife Sarah K. (Barner) Kerchner; children Samantha Kerchner of North Versailles, John (Joann) Marts of North Versailles, Donald (Christine) Marts of Port Vue, Ronald (Lois) Marts of East McKeesport, Randy Marts of East McKeesport; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother Michael D. (the late Darlene) Kerchner of North Versailles; sisters Rebecca (the late Michael) Aiello of Harrison City and Kathryn (Jerry) King of Turtle Creek; and one aunt and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 22nd at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. Everyone will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 23rd at 11 a.m. for a funeral service. Interment with military honors will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Monroeville.
