Marty Munn

1958 - 2026

PONTOTOC - Marty Dean Munn, 67, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home in Pontotoc. Born May 7, 1958, to Hayward and Wilma Munn, Marty was a 1976 graduate of Pontotoc High School. He was employed at Arvin Industries in Verona, Mississippi, and later retired from Cooper Tire & Rubber Company after 38 years of service.

Marty was a faithful member of West Heights Baptist Church, where he served in several areas of the church and participated in multiple mission trips. He dearly loved his Sunday School class and the fellowship it brought. Marty enjoyed junking, antique shopping, and spending time working in his yard. He never could pass up a good deal and loved finding a bargain. Marty never met a stranger and especially enjoyed time sitting on his porch.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Deborah Munn; his daughters, Ginger Beghtol (Jason) of Tupelo, Jennifer Munn Blankenship (Rob) of Belden, Maggie Patrick (Chuck), Lauren Holloway (Blake), both of Pontotoc, and AnnaLea Smith (Johnnie) of Ripley; his seven grandchildren, Jack and John Beghtol, Isaac, Callie Anne, and LG Patrick, Lyndi Holloway, and Lela Dean Smith; his brothers, Edwin Munn (Kathy) and Philip Munn; his brother-in-law, Scotty Pennington (Christy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe Munn; and his in-laws, Joe and Laberta Pennington.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM at West Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Faulkner and Bro. David Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at West Heights Baptist Church and again Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until service time.
