Marvin Emery Garlick, 86, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025. Marvin was born July 13, 1939 in Lewistown to Emery and Dorothy Garlick. He received some schooling in Lewistown and later received his GED.
Marvin joined the military in March 1965 and served his country for 28 years in active duty and reserves. While serving in the reserves, Marvin also worked for the Lewistown School District as a custodian from 1970 through 2004.
Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching rodeos and attending the Professional Bull Riding events in Billings and Las Vegas. Marvin also enjoyed wearing many different hats while serving the American Legion. Marvin loved passing on his vast knowledge of archery hunting, big game hunting and fishing to the younger generations and did so by teaching hunter safety, working with youth archery and helping with the Lewistown Bowhunter's Association events.
Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice; parents, Emery and Dorothy; brothers, Billy and Leland; and sister, Mary. He is survived by his son, Martin and daughter-in-law, Pam; sister, Patty Long; brother, John Garlick; grandchildren, Monica Glazner, Donald Adams (Belle) and Sarah Kaufman (Shane); and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death and survived by the many special friends he had throughout his life and he appreciated every one of them.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, 2:30 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Lewistown Eagles Club at 3:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Lewistown Youth Archery, Tails as Old as Time, Senior Dog Rescue, or Lewistown Veteran's Park.
