Marvin Irwin Barish, 97, of Philadelphia, passed away on February 5, 2026. “Chalky” Barish, son of Samuel Barish and Sadie Fitch, brother of Fred Barish, loving husband of Marie Barish née Hobbs. He is survived by his daughter Stacey Barish, his son-in-law Samuel Rosenthal, and granddaughter Anna Rosenthal. Barish was passionate about the law, which he practiced for 50 years. As a former President of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and Designated Counsel for several major railroad unions, Barish proved himself to be a successful litigator and a fierce advocate for his clients. He also loved race horses, the Philadelphia Eagles, reading, lounging on the beach, and spending valuable time with his beloved granddaughter. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends
