Marvin Huey Collins

ALEXANDER – Marvin Huey Collins, age 86, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Marvin was born on April 15, 1939, in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County most of his life.

Marvin loved to travel and was always on the go. He loved people, never meeting a stranger, and loved helping others. He also loved all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Barnardsville Free Will Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Woodfin and Velma Randall Collins. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Collins; two sons, Jerry and Ricky Collins; and siblings, Kathleen, Herman, Sherman, and NanaLee.

Surviving is his wife, Trudy Walker Collins; daughter, Teresa Edwards (Dean); son, Danny Collins (Susan); sister, Shirley Hamlin; brother, Charlie “Buster” Collins (Willie Mae); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with the Reverend Roger Boone officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
