Marvin Cooper, Jr. was the first child born to the late Mr. Marvin Cooper, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lizzie M. Cooper, on July 21st, 1956. Being the first of five children.

Marvin attended Christ the King Catholic School, Blackburn Junior High and Provine High School. After graduating from high school, Marvin enlisted in the U.S. Army, from which he was honorably discharged on 12/22/77. After leaving the military, Marvin attended Hinds Junior College, where he majored in Auto Mechanics.

Marvin had many interests which included chess, dominos, and reading. He also enjoyed cooking, and his two favorite dishes were gumbo and lasagna. Marvin had a great love of music and he owned an extensive collection of music, which included Dizzy Gillespie, Bob Marley, and Jimi Hendrix.

Marvin enjoyed spending quality time with his nieces and nephews, often giving them words of wisdom on how to avoid the pitfalls of life. Marvin also had friends all over the city of Jackson and no matter where he went, he never met a stranger.

Marvin had a close relationship with God, and he was very spiritual. Having attended Christ the King Catholic School, he often would recite Hail Marys and the Lord's Prayer.

Finally, a unique note about Marvin was that he had a memory like an elephant, recalling all the birthdays in the family and the dates to famous historical events that took place all over the world.

Marvin will be dearly missed by his family, Nieces & Nephews: Chasity Bingley, Dae Mion Cooper, Michelle Adams, Sangai Cooper, Namyia Jones, and Cory Cooper; Great Niece & Nephews: Cooper Bingley, Corbyn Bingley, Corrie Bingley, Paul Bearers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
