A memorial service for Marvin Marshall Daniel, age 84, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, with Pastor Doug Farris and Bro. Billy Fowler sharing remarks. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service. A meal for family and friends will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place at a later time at Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.

Marvin was born on January 27, 1941, in Lincoln County, TN, to the late Horace and Donnie Belle Hardin Daniel. A gifted athlete in his youth, Marvin excelled in multiple sports and was honored with selection to the All Banner Mid-State Team in both his junior and senior years. He earned a football scholarship to Murray State University in Kentucky but soon felt the pull of home, and more importantly, of the love of his life, Glynn Lee Stevenson, whom he returned to marry.

Marvin was a longtime district manager for Lance and, after retiring, began a second career at Gerald's Foodland. He was a devoted fan of UT football and basketball, an avid NASCAR enthusiast, and a passionate cook who found joy in preparing meals for those he loved.

His faith was the foundation of his life. A devoted member of First Baptist Church, Marvin served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for 16 years. He lived his faith daily with kindness, humility, and a servant's heart. Whether caring for family, friends, or neighbors, he embodied the fruits of the Spirit in every action. Marvin believed in making the most of every day, always with a plan and purpose, and never let a moment go to waste.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Daniel McCollum and husband Kirk of Fayetteville, and Jill Daniel Stone and husband Bill of Taft; grandson, Reece McCollum and wife Hannah of Hoover, AL; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Abigail, and David McCollum; and his "bonus daughter," Amy Jo Russell. In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Glynn Lee Stevenson Daniel; his sister, Monte Katherine Daniel Ables; and his grandson, Ryan McCollum.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ramp Committee of First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 623, Fayetteville, TN 37334, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
