Marvin Daniel Henslee, Jr., age 83, husband of Glenda Sullivan Henslee, and a resident of Ethridge, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his residence.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Polk Memorial Gardens with Brother Wayne Ashford officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 6, 1941, in Columbia, Tennessee, Marvin was the son of the late Marvin Daniel Henslee, Sr. and the late Mary Gladys Shook Henslee. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later enjoyed a long career as an engineer with Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline. He also operated a successful auction business for many years on Bear Creek Pike in Columbia. A man of faith, Marvin was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Marvin had a love for farming and a spirit for adventure. He especially enjoyed traveling in his RV with his father and his first wife. Known for his good humor and playful personality, he brought laughter and joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Danny (Mary) Henslee, David (Michelle) Henslee, Douglas Blake, James Sam Fitzgerald, Tommy (Daphine) Fitzgerald, daughters, Cathy (Mark) Love, Gina Pelham, grandchildren, Chase Henslee, Justin Henslee, Chris Henslee, Seth (Kelsey) Henslee, Justin Fitzgerald, C.J. Fitzgerald, Leslee (Josh) Golden, Brandon Gibson, Steven Rankin, Will Love, Andrew Love, Kaitlyn Pelham, Cody Pelham, Matthew Simmons, Caleb Simmons, great grandchildren, Lavenia Pelham, Emmory Henslee, Melanie Henslee, Trooper Henslee, Olivia Fitzgerald, Isla Fitzgerald, J.D. Golden, Walt Gibson, Harper Gibson, Charlotte Gibson, Christopher Gibson, Michael Gibson, Justin Simmons, Trooper Simmons, Ryder Simmons, Liberty Simmons, Isabella Simmons, and Bentley Simmons, and very special friends, Sherry Riddle, Kenneth Riddle, Heather Riddle,.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Gail Demastus Henslee, second mother, Sara Robinson Henslee, granddaughter, Brittany Henslee, and brother, Ronnie W. Henslee.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Fitzgerald, Sam Fitzgerald, Kenneth Riddle, Brandon Gibson, Steven Rankin, and C.J. Fitzgerald.
