Obituary of Marvin Gene Luttrell
Marvin Gene Luttrell, age 85, died at his home in Largo, Florida on December 14, 2021. He was born in Independence, Missouri, to the late Raleigh Floyd Luttrell and Vida Belle (Willis) Luttrell. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ralph Dean Luttrell and Dwight Melvin Luttrell. He is survived by a son, Jeffrey Alan Luttrell, a daughter, Pamela Sue (Luttrell) Barentine; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann (Buffy) Barentine, Jonathan Yates Barentine and Jennifer Louanne (Myers) Greenstreet; three brothers, Gary K. Luttrell (Tavy); Jerry L. Luttrell (Kay); Donald N. Luttrell (Vicki); and a sister, Anita L. Berbaum (Jim), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 and was stationed overseas in Baumholder, Germany. During his business career, he was employed in marketing by the Ford Motors, Skelly Oil and United Telecommunications companies. Later in life he was self-employed in real estate investing. He enjoyed flying airplanes and was a private pilot with multiple ratings. He enjoyed his airplanes and sports cars. He made his sailboat his home for a time and enjoyed sailing southern Florida and the Florida Keys. He loved his family very much and they loved him. He will be greatly missed.
