Marvin D. Malczewski, age 71, of Gladwin, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1954, the son of Marion and Eleanore (Zukowski) Malczewski, in Highland Park, MI. Marvin was employed as an Engineer at General Motors for 35 years before his retirement. On September 30, 2012, he married Dawn Wallace and together they shared 13 years filled with love and cherished memories.
Marvin loved being outdoors, often spending his time fishing and boating. He liked woodworking and putzing around working on things around the house.
A special thanks to Dawn’s sister: Janet; niece: Kelly VanDrunen and her husband, Mike, for all their help and support during this very difficult time.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Dawn; son: Nicholas (Nally) Malczewski; grandchildren: Jazmin and Carly; daughter: Marcy Malczewski; brother: Melvin (Janet) Malczewski; nieces: Renee (Kyle) and children, and Michelle (Kyle) and children; sister-in-law: Janet Hines and family; niece: Kelly (Mike) VanDrunen and family and Julie Shuster (Kevin).
Marvin was blessed with the close family of his first wife, Judy. He is also survived by his brother-in-law: Wally Jakubowski (Beverly); niece: Chris Wessel and family; and nephew: Matt Jakubowski (Sarah).
He was preceded in death by his parents: Marion and Eleanore; and first wife: Judy Jakubowski.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Marvin will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Parkinson's Foundation and The American Cancer Society.
