Marvin “Mike” Fedders was born on April 16, 1937, in Alton, Iowa, to Benjamin and Lucy (De Vries) Fedders. He attended a country school there until 8th grade.
Mike and Audrey Faye De Groot were married on September 19, 1956, and made their home in Orange City, Iowa, Grand Rapids, MI, Montevideo, MN, Carmel, IA, Englewood, CO, Elizabeth, CO, Mission Bell, TX and George, Iowa.
Mike drove trucks for many companies, starting with driving with his brother George at the age of 13 all the way to owning his own trucking company with 19 trucks and 35 employees.
Mike was a hard worker, but he also liked to play hard. He enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, parasailing, boating, camping and games with his family and friends.
After retiring from running Dutch Boy Express, Mike and Audrey spent many winters living in Mission Bell Texas, where Audrey was the activity director and Mike was her mule. He loved to support her in every event that they participated in. Mike also loved dogs and had a special set of miniature pinchers named Spike and Matrix that loved to travel all over with Mike and Audrey. When home in George, Mike loved to mow lawns for his family and the beautiful oasis where he lived with Audrey.
Mike loved his wife Audie with all his heart. She was the love of his life. He also loved his son, and three daughters and later his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike is survived by his wife, Audrey, and daughters, Dianne and (Jack) West, Sandy and (Bert) Reitsma and Shari and (Jack) Kruse. Mike’s grandchildren will continue to hold him in high esteem. He is survived by Shannon and (Wayne) Russell, Kendra Reitsma, Justin (Katelyn) Vanden Burg, Allisa Vanden Burg, Kendall (Alyssa) Kruse, Kelsey and (Joseph) Choi, Kaitlin and (Evan) Bechler, Kyle (Abby) Reitsma, Kami and (Adam) Luth and Keeley and (Austin) Van Voorst. Great-grandchildren Devon, Jordyn, Jayla, Lane, Lincoln, Jayden, Annabelle, Emerie, Levi, Josiah, Keaton, Liam, Michael, Amius and Ephriam loved to receive Whoppers from their Papa every time they visited with him. Also, Mike is survived by brother Bernie (Irma) Fedders, sister Jeanette Wielenga, sister-in-law Harriet Kroese, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding Mike in death are Ben and Lucy Fedders, his son Roger Dale Fedders, Gerald Fedders, George and Dorothy Fedders, Glen and Nelvina De Haan, Stan Folkema, Glenn and Harriet Hubenet, Bill and Grace De Groot, Barney and Priscilla Broek, Dick and Anna De Weerd, Art Hulstein and Gerald Kroese.
