Marvin Eugene Smith, Jr.,63, a loving father and grandfather, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at his residence.

 Born on July 1, 1961, Marvin dedicated much of his life to his craft as a painter. He lent his skills to his grandfather, uncle, and numerous contractors throughout Savannah and the surrounding areas, leaving a mark of dedication and quality in the community.

Marvin's commitment to his family extended beyond his profession; he was of the Baptist faith and attended Central Baptist Church. In his free time, Marvin loved being outdoors and going fishing any chance he got. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Ruth Smith; mother, Shevly Smith; son, Justin Paul Smith; sister, Brenda Red Long; grandma and grandpa, Zola and Ezon Parrish; and many aunts and uncles gone to soon that greeted him at the pearly gates. 

Survivors include his son, Jason Smith of Guyton; grandson, Alex Smith of Guyton; sister, Patricia Counts of Bloomingdale; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Central Baptist Church, 4010 Old Louisville Road, Garden City, GA 31408, from 10am – 11am with a celebration of life to follow at 11am on Thursday, October 24, 2024, with Johnny Bryant officiating.
